August 2010 Day 3 – Setting off to Taichung

We set off early to have breakfast at Q Square, N.Y. Bagels Cafe (1st floor).  It’s an American cafe and I happened to see the signboard ‘Best Breakfast in Town’ and decided to try out.  There are a number of breakfast sets and ala-cart menu to choose.  I will recommend the bagels – quite nice.  The French toast is a must try!  It’s a pity that the coffee is so-so only!  The cafe has a policy that every customer needs to have a min. order amount.    (Afternote: Read from the locals’ blogs that this cafe’s breakfasts are quite popular and need to queue for half hour for a table.)

After breakfast, we took the Aloha bus at 台北轉運站 (Taipei Bus Station) to Taichung (about 2.5 hr, $190twn for adult).  The bus station is just besides our accomodation – quite convenient.  The tickets can be bought at 1st floor.  There are various bus service providers that go to Taichung.  For bus boarding, you will need to go to 4th floor.  Please note that the bus departs punctually.  If you happen to be late, you are allowed to change the timing once.

The Aloha bus is quite comfortable and you wont feel bored as there is a portable tv (with limited channels).   See picture below:
